RTE-UX - HP1000/RTE to Unix/HP-UX/Linux Migration Tools and Services
RTE-UX Description

The RTE-UX...

environment is an RTE emulation which provides HP1000 RTE users with the means to migrate their applications to HP-UX whilst being able to retain general backwards RTE compatibility.

Proven in use for migrating complex RTE applications at several North American and European sites, such as GlaxoSmithKline, Canadian National Railway Company, Bayer, BASF, and Burmah Oil, RTE-UX can truly provide the means by which proprietary RTE applications can take advantage of the cost and performance benefits of the HP9000, with minimal additional capital expenditure.

The RTE-UX Environment is implemented as a tiny RTE Daemon under HP-UX. This manages a set of tables (Class, LU, etc.) to provide the RTE Environment, all being fully implemented in native HP-UX. RTE-UX also provides a set of familiar CI commands, including RU, XQ, SS, GO, BR, OF, PATH, and WH, to help to ensure the users comfort with the migration.

Major RTE subsystems such as IMAGE/1000 and FORMS/1000 are fully supported. For IMAGE/1000, the optional IMAGE-UX software provides complete IMAGE/1000 functionality with enhancements specific to HP-UX.For FORMS/1000, there is a conversion utility for the FORMS files and a full set of library routines. Additional third party software is also required.
