Dipl. Ing. (FH) Andreas Maier... after successfully finishing his studies of telecommunication techniques at the "Fachhochschule für Technik Esslingen" started his career at Hewlett-Packard GmbH (HP) in Böblingen / Germany where he worked for 15 years until 1995 in various jobs and responsibilities. Starting with Hewlett-Packard Germany... After working for 3 years as a project manager in a software development department where he was responsible for research and development of CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software, Mr. Maier was asked in 1986 to move to the HP German Sales Marketing to play a leading role in introducing the brand new HP9000/HP-UX RISC server family to the German market. Having gathered a lot of knowledge and skills in real time processing and the HP9000/HP-UX servers it was a logical step for Mr. Maier to be part of the "German Knowledge Center", responsible for server benchmarking and technology transition from the HP US labs to Germany. In 1989, when the German Knowledge Center and HP's German Support Organization where merged to the Professional Services Organization (PSO / HP's consulting operation) Mr. Maier was appointed project manager. He was then responsible for the midrange migration business in Germany and parts of Europe in the "Open Systems Migration Center". He was asked to run a small group of software engineers, to research and develop software migration tools to make software and data migrations from proprietary midrange computer platforms to the HP9000/HP-UX RISC servers as easy as possible. As the manager of a profit center Mr. Maier had to sell, plan and manage customer projects. With his team he developed tools applicable to the following computer / operating systems:

In 1995, Mr. Maier accepted the challenge to work with one of his former clients as an IT manager, responsible for the continuous operation of their IT data center (24/7) and the strategic development of IT operations.
